Every Saturday, I sit on my couch and spend ~hours~ scrolling through Pinterest, virtually window-shopping, writing things I’ll never publish, reading good books and just generally finding inspiration and sitting with my thoughts. It’s my form of self-care. And I’ve always wanted to write about those things more, but having so many thoughts about so many things (which sunglasses should I buy? should I go on a date with this guy? how tall of a lamp should I put in my living room?) often makes me feel too all over the place and like I need to have everything perfectly written and organized before I can share it. I write a post for my blog or my substack and it inevitably ends up in the drafts graveyard for it’s lack of perfection. So, since I’m sticking to my New Year’s Resolutions this year, I’m starting a Substack series - welcome to Something Saturday. It may be a random list of cool things that I’ve found online, a love letter to something I purchased recently, or maybe I’ll even share some personal writing. Who knows!! The only rule is that I have to write something every Saturday. I can promise it will be mildly chaotic and unorganized, but maybe you’ll find something you like or at least enjoy reading!

Episode one.
The Instagram ad that got me today.
My Instagram ads are so perfectly targeted because all I’ve been searching for are cool sunglasses. I don’t usually fall for ads from companies I’ve never heard of, but I’m interested to see how these look and feel in person.
Recent additions to my wishlist.

Studded jeans from Reformation - Interested in trying these on just to see how they look. I like the idea of a studded jean and also the color of these, but I’m not fully convinced they will do what I want. I’ve also never purchased anything from Reformation so I’m not really confident in the quality or have a good idea of how their pants fit.
Inoui Editions tiger bag - This was a Pinterest find and I’ve been in the market for a black crossbody for a while now, but I’m also trying to be a bit more fun and experimental with my style. I’m thinking this bag fits both bills and would be a fun staple bag?
Art Dept hat - I’m a big baseball cap girl which is weird because I only own one (??) and I really want some more go-to’s that don’t remind me of my ex.
Blue and white Reebox - Okay picture this… white tee, the jeans, the hat, the bag, and the shoes..
Green Rebecca Minkoff bag - also kind of fits the bill for a fun staple bag. I’m really enticed by the studded strap, but not sold on the green color yet. My guess is this will sit on my list for two weeks or so, but I still want to keep it for inspiration in the mean time.
Wolf & Badger bra - Love the thought of this under a white tee in the summer but I’m not sure I’m sold on a bra for $200. I’d say it’s more of an inspiration for the outfit/vibe in my head vs. something I actually want to buy.
Inspiring me on Pinterest

If you’re not on Pinterest, wyd?
Pinterest continues to be my favorite platform and the first thing I open every morning. Lately I’ve been thinking of inspirational images I find online not necessarily as things I can recreate or copy, but more about the feeling it has and using that as inspiration rather than the actual photo. My Pinterest right now is giving cool-chic, out and about, hanging with friends and that’s the vibe right now. It’s more helpful in inspiring me outside of just things I want to buy.

“Rachel friends plaid pants”

I saw these plaid pants on Obcessory and immediately thought of Rachel Green. I’m always attracted to patterned pants but then I never wear them, so I’m chalking this one up as a fun idea rather than inspiration for my closet. And that’s on being financially responsible.
“Opalhouse zebra towel”
I bought this beach towel back in college when Target first collabed with Opalhouse and it’s been one of my favorite things I’ve purchased for years. But I realized I wasn’t ever using it even though I literally love it, so I started using it as a bath towel just for the little joy it brings me. Not revolutionary, I know, but for some reason that never crossed my mind?? In my mind this towels only job was beach. I thought I could find more to make a whole bath set, but haven’t been able to track any down.
Recent empties.
Love. Especially after a flight. Repurchased.
I don’t think this did a single thing but it was fun to use it I guess?
Couldn’t wait to finish this so I can try a new one. It helps with frizz I guess but I don’t feel like it really nourishes, just kind of sits on the top.
I can’t tell if this did anything so I’m going to give it up for a month and see if I miss it.
Best thing I’ve ever bought and only lip product I’ve ever finished. Already replaced x2. It’s plumping but in a minty way, not the kind that stings. I feel like my lips are more plump just from using this, not just when I wear it.
Well, this was fun. Let’s do it again next Saturday?
